Private Pilots Licence (PPL)
For those of you who wish to hire or use your own light aircraft, the Private Pilots Licence (PPL) course offers you the training and experience you need. All of our training is approved by the CAA. If you want to go further and pursue a professional aviation career via the Modular route, the Private Pilots Licence (PPL) is the first step.
The Private Pilots Licence (PPL) course at ACS Flight Training combines both practical flight training and the theoretical knowledge required to fly light aircraft within the UK and Europe. The course requires a minimum of 45 hours flying time – including ten hours solo – ending with a skills test with an examiner. The skills test will examine your general handling and navigation skills.

- EXAMINATIONS
- There are nine theory exams to be completed covering important topics including:
- - Aviation Law
- - Human Performance
- - Meteorology
- - Communications
- - Principles of Flight
- - Operational Procedures
- - Flight Performance & Planning
- - Aircraft General Knowledge
- - Navigation
- All of the exams are in the multiple-choice format and require a 75% pass mark.

- - Pre-flight and post-flight briefings

- - Dual flying: 25-35 hours
- - Solo Flying: 10 Hours
- Pre-requisites:
- - Valid CAA Class 1 or 2 medical before first solo flight.
- - Minimum age to commence: 14yrs
- - Minimum age for solo flight: 16yrs
- - Licence issue: 17yrs
